4. Teaching procedures
Step 1: Lead in
Free talk. After greeting, the teacher will ask students “What did you eat this morning?” Then the teacher will conclude these food into 3kinds: energy-giving food, body-building food, protective food. Next ask another qusetion “Which groups of food do you like best? What is healthy eating or balanced diet”.
Step 2: Prereading
Prediction: Students should look at the title and the pictures of our passage to guess the main idea of the passage.
Step 3: Fast reading
Students should read the passage quickly and divide it into 3 parts. Give gain the main idea of each part.
Step 4: Careful reading
1)Students should scan Part1 to find How Wang describe the food he serve in his restaurant
2)Students should scan Part3
Activity1: fill in the chart.
Activity2: Does Wang win finally?
Step 5: Postreading
Pair work: discuss the question ( What do you think Wang will provide to win his customers back) in pairs to guess the end of the story.
Step 6: Summary and homework
Summary: The teacher ask students to show the summary.
Homework: 1. Students polish their ending and write a passage at least 100 words
2. Students design a balanced diet for their family.
