Answer：今天開始講動詞，不過動詞內容很多。我們從時態(tài)說起，今天先講一般現在時。
一般現在時（I）：She works
Reading：
Paul Hart and Sarah Ford live in the same block of flats in Avonmouth. Paul’s a postman. He gets up at 5:30 a.m. and goes to work at 6. He usually catches the bus. Sarah lives in the next flat. She’s a nurse. She works nights. She gets home from work at 6 a.m. at the same time as Paul leaves for work! They meet on the stairs and say hello, but that’s all. He sometimes tries to arrange a date with her, but he doesn’t find it easy. And they don’t see each other at weekends because Sarah works most weekends. Nurses don’t have an easy life. But she says she likes nursing and she doesn’t want to change her job. “I enjoy my job, but I don’t have a very good social life. Paul and I don’t spend any time together. We often try to arrange a date, but we’re never free at the same time.”
I.一般現在時的用法
一般現在時用來談論：
1．習慣性或規(guī)律性的動作和狀態(tài)。
Paul Gets up at 5.30 a.m.
They meet on the stairs.
Paul and Sarah live in Avonmouth.
2.普遍的或通常的事實和態(tài)度。
Nurses don’t have an easy life.
Sarah likes nursing.
一般現在時不能用來談論現在正在進行的或現階段正在進行的動作或狀態(tài)。不能說：Look! It rains..
談論現在正進行的或現階段正在進行的動作或狀態(tài)要用現在進行時：Look! It’s raining.
小練習I 下列哪些句子描述規(guī)律性的動作或通常的態(tài)度？
1. Paul has a shower every morning.
2. He went to bed late last night.
3. Sarah’s going to Spain next summer.
4. She loves the sun.
II．一般現在時：肯定形式
在肯定形式中，除了單數第三人稱（he, it, Paul, the flat等.）外，所有人稱的一般現在時動詞用動詞不定式（我們通常所說動詞原形）。
單數第三人稱一般現在時在動詞后加-s。
Paul gets up at 5,30 a.m.
Sarah likes nursing.
加-s規(guī)則：
1) 一般直接加-s (如：love-loves, like-likes)。
2) 以 –o, -ch, -sh, -ss 結尾的動詞（如 go-goes, catch-catches, watch-watches, wash-washes,kiss- kisses等），要加 -es
Paul goes to work at 6.
He usually catches the bus.
3) 以 –y 結尾的動詞（y前面是輔音字母），(如cry-cries, fly-flies, hurry-hurries, try-tries,等)單數第三人稱時要變 y 為-ies。
Paul often tries to arrange a date with her.
以 –y 結尾的動詞（–y 前面是一個元音字母），(如buy-buys, play-plays, say-says, 等)，只加-s。
But she says she likes nursing.
