word 作名詞除了“單詞”的意思，還有“話語”的意思。my word 就是我說的話，Take my word for it.這個口語表達的意思就是“相信我說的話，我說的話準沒錯兒”，相當(dāng)于：Believe me.; Trust me, I am telling you the truth.
- Are you sure you heard right?
- 你確定你沒聽錯嗎？
- Yup.
- 是啊。
- I don't believe it. I don't buy it.
- 我不信，我才不信呢。
- Once in a blue moon, he won the lottery. He told me yesterday. Take my word for it.
- 他破天荒的中了彩票。他昨天告訴我的。相信我的話。

另外，Take one's word for it. 就是相信某人的話。這個口語表達還可以加上否定詞，表示不相信某人的話。
You can't always take his word for it. Go and check with your teacher.
不要總是相信他的話，還是去和老師確認一下。
