佛教于東漢開始傳入我國(guó)，三國(guó)起生根萌芽，又于魏晉隋唐發(fā)展蓬勃。與此同時(shí)，佛教藝術(shù)也開拓了中國(guó)藝術(shù)的一個(gè)全新領(lǐng)域——佛教繪畫。
自唐以后，佛教逐漸本土化加之禪宗的興起，羅漢逐漸獨(dú)立于人們對(duì)佛的信仰，被認(rèn)為是神通廣大、古道熱腸的代表，成為各階層人民的普遍信仰，羅漢畫成為中國(guó)繪畫史上一門特殊的圖像藝術(shù)。
大凡著名的佛教古寺都有五百羅漢室。《十誦律》卷四有所記載：釋迦生時(shí)，便有隨他聽法傳道的五百弟子，稱為“五百羅漢”。
佛陀在世時(shí)，五百尊者侍立于佛前，刻苦修習(xí)，積善行德，正得阿羅漢果。佛陀涅槃后，眾尊者承繼宏愿，護(hù)持眾生，引人向善。
藝術(shù)往往反映了生活，美術(shù)向來展現(xiàn)著歷史。在晚唐來，以羅漢為題材的佛畫蓬勃發(fā)展，人們將心中智慧、美好、高尚等等人格理想寄托于對(duì)于羅漢的膜拜中，為自己的人生求得一份希望與標(biāo)桿。
基于對(duì)藝術(shù)的欣賞以及對(duì)流行的追尋，晚唐、五代時(shí)期多位著名畫家都以羅漢為題材留下許多墨寶。
但佛法的很多意境不是聽說就能感悟，因此羅漢畫中較為出名的都是出家人，古有石濤、弘一法師，今有當(dāng)代畫僧永覺大師。
古人畫羅漢多是用國(guó)畫或是線描，于淺淡的背景下勾畫羅漢的神采風(fēng)范。其中相貌更是因人各異，在繪畫的審美功能之外，表現(xiàn)著人們辟邪欺負(fù)的思想愿望。
而當(dāng)代畫僧永覺大師則走出另外一條路，采用抽象的油畫來表達(dá)五百羅漢。濃墨重彩中凸顯出各位尊者的特點(diǎn)身份，抽象的畫風(fēng)讓人們的關(guān)注點(diǎn)從對(duì)羅漢相貌的探尋中轉(zhuǎn)移。
對(duì)于羅漢的作畫，有“十六羅漢”、“十八羅漢”、“五百羅漢”的區(qū)別，而對(duì)于佛學(xué)的作畫除了技藝外更重要的是完美融入禪意和人們的愿意，其中耗費(fèi)的心力難以估量。
永覺大師已完成十八位尊者的繪畫，并立志于三年完成整整五百羅漢圖。這其中不僅需要巧手妙思，更是需要強(qiáng)勁的心力和堅(jiān)持的覺悟。
濃重的底色是大師慣用的風(fēng)格，寥寥幾筆便對(duì)羅漢的整體形象大致勾勒。即便是抽象的畫風(fēng)也不會(huì)刻意攪亂整體畫幅。
佛學(xué)，依托本心，堅(jiān)持前行。正如大師寂寥身形，走在自己的路上，探尋著自己的道法守著一份孤寂，創(chuàng)作著流傳后世的精彩。
羅漢畫中萬(wàn)宗不變的就是那份佛陀的慈悲與寬容，不拘相貌如何，不論身形大小，澄澈本心，守護(hù)一方寧?kù)o安康。
大師的油畫技藝初看奪人目光，細(xì)品之下更知細(xì)膩柔和，印證了人民對(duì)于羅漢的期盼與想象。
釋永覺簡(jiǎn)介
Introduction of Zhu Shenguang
釋永覺，字慧一，1964年生于江蘇太倉(cāng)，俗名朱神光，亦名朱晴雨，號(hào)無覺子，國(guó)際知名的覺性藝術(shù)家、中國(guó)最優(yōu)秀的油畫家之一，“自然藝術(shù)禪”的創(chuàng)立者。2017年農(nóng)歷四月初八釋迦摩尼佛圣誕日，于溫州圣壽禪寺依虹光法師剃度出家，2018年受戒，現(xiàn)任溫州龍灣天柱禪寺住持。
Shi Yongjue，styled Huiyi, was born in Taicang, Jiangsu, in 1964, with former name as Zhu Shenguang, also as Zhu Qingyu, and assumed name as Wu Jue Zi. He’s noted as a consciousness artist in many counties, and he is one of a most famous Oil Painters in China, and he created the Natural Art Zen. On the holy Birthday of Sakyamuni Buddha，the eighth day of the fourth month of the lunar calendar 2017，Master Hongguang tonsued him and he became a Buddhist Monk at Shengshou Zen Temple. He is now the abbot of Tianzhu Zen Temple in Longwan District, Wenzhou city.
永覺法師16歲(1980年)進(jìn)修于上海戲曲學(xué)院舞美系，21歲(1985年)入讀于蘇州大學(xué)美術(shù)學(xué)院，后游學(xué)歐美。
Mater Yongjue studied in Stage Design Department of Shanghai Theatre Academy when he was 16 years old (in 1980), and studied in School of Art of Soochow university when he was 21 years old (in 1985), and then had study tours in Europe and America.
法師出家前常居湖山，早期創(chuàng)作情感根植于鄉(xiāng)情，繪畫八十年代江南水鄉(xiāng)場(chǎng)景，之后研讀歐洲哲學(xué)和藝術(shù)美學(xué)著作，臨摹各派藝術(shù)大師作品并畫出創(chuàng)意作品，游歷名山古剎，結(jié)合中國(guó)儒釋道傳統(tǒng)文化，創(chuàng)作意象太湖系列；2000年之后開始重點(diǎn)創(chuàng)作覺性藝術(shù)作品、禪意作品，通過抽象作品呈現(xiàn)宇宙、自然原始之美，引導(dǎo)人們身心回歸自然、寧?kù)o、喜悅。永覺法師近年來創(chuàng)立“自然藝術(shù)禪”，以禪畫、梵唄、頌缽等多種形式接引大眾。
He usually lives by lakes and in mountains before he became a monk, with his early creation based on nostalgia and with paintings focusing on the scenery of Jiangnan water town in the 1980s. Later, he read and studied European philosophy and art and aesthetics works, copied the works of different schools of art masters and created innovative works, visited famous mountains and old temples, combined Chinese Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism traditional culture, and created Tai Lake image series. After 2000, he began to create consciousness art works and Zen spirit works, presented the original beauty of universe and nature through abstract works, and guided people to return to nature, serene and happiness physically and mentally. He created the Natural Art Zen in recent years, which will introduce Buddha Dharma to the public in various forms, such as Zen spirit painting, Buddhist chants, singing bowl and so on.

1980年至1990期間的作品多以江南水鄉(xiāng)和四川彝族老人為題材，主要作品包括"水韻江南"系列、"梵"系列五十余幅等。
From 1980 to 1990, his works mainly took Jiangnan water town and elders of Yi Nationality in Sichuan as materials, with the main works including “water Jiangnan” and “Fan” series, etc, totally 50 works.
1990年至2000年期間，初期受吳冠中先生啟發(fā)，創(chuàng)作"萬(wàn)象太湖"系列，后游藝巴黎、布魯塞爾、佛羅倫薩等藝術(shù)圣地的美術(shù)館、畫廊、美術(shù)院校。
From 1990 to 2000, inspired by Wu Guanzhong in the early stage, he created “All-encompassing Tai Lake” series, and then he visited art galleries, art colleges and universities in Paris, Brussels, Florence and other art holy lands.
2000年左右棄筆用刀，重點(diǎn)向抽象風(fēng)格發(fā)展。后創(chuàng)作"行者"系列等作品。
In around 2000, he stopped painting, but engraving, and focused on developing toward abstract style, with “pedestrian” series, and other works created later.
2012年始，游歷泰國(guó)、緬甸、斯里蘭卡、尼泊爾、印度等國(guó)，作品風(fēng)格向冥想藝術(shù)發(fā)展。
From 2012 on, he visited Thailand, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Nepal，India，etc, with his works developing toward meditation art.
“我之繪畫是為了通過藝術(shù)這一形式，去追尋自我存在于宇宙世界的意義。當(dāng)人類因科學(xué)發(fā)明的日新月異感嘆、驕傲?xí)r，殊不知其實(shí)質(zhì)是將人類帶上了走向毀滅的快車道。此時(shí)只有回歸自然，回歸人之本源才是唯一出路。也正是人類存在的意義所在。我之藝術(shù)是為了通過繪畫形式，通過追求美的歷程把社會(huì)屬性的心回歸到自然屬性的心，去體悟宇宙之精神。體悟神性、佛性的存在；而與之交融，合為一體；體悟存在的意義和道的永恒。我之藝術(shù)是探索美的根本，使宇宙、自然之原始的美能在人類視覺中呈現(xiàn)；人是宇宙、自然的部分，人心即宇宙心、自然心。放棄所有思想，拋開一切觀念，打開心門，讓宇宙之光芒照耀心田。
My art wants to pursue my meaning in universe through painting. When human are amazed by and proud of rapid changes brought by scientific invention, they fail to aware that it brings human to the fast lane of ruin. At such a time, returning to nature and the human origin is the only way out, which is also the meaning for human existence. My art wants to return the heart with social property to the heart with natural property, feel the universe spirits through pursuing beauty by painting. My art wants to feel the existence of divinity and Buddhata, integrate with them, and feel the meaning of existence and the eternity of Taoism. My art wants to explore the nature of beauty through painting, and make the original beauty of universe and nature present in the vision of human. Human is just a part of universe and nature, human heart is the heart of universe and the heart of nature. My art abandons all thoughts and all concepts, but open the heart and let the light of universe brighten the heart.
我之藝術(shù)，沒有思想，沒有形式。作畫時(shí)看不到色彩，摸不著畫布，是自心覺性而舞。我之作品不是繪畫，是我在宇宙中呼吸時(shí)留下的氣息?！?（朱神光自述）My art has no thoughts, no form. When I create, I see no color, and touch no canvas, but just my heart dances.
