Disturbing news has emerged from Egypt where the strict Islamic parliament is considering allowing men to have sex with their dead wives, up to 6 hours after their death.
This shocking news was initially encouraged by Moroccan cleric Zamzami Abdul Bari, who believes marriage remains valid even after death, and therefore men and women should be allowed to have sex with their deceased partners.
Obviously these draft laws, titled “Farewell Intercourse,” has caused outrage across much of Egypt and the world having been met by strong opposition from Egypt’s National Council for Women.
Campaigners for the groups state “marginalising and undermining the status of women would negatively affect the country’s human development.”
Newsreaders on Egyptian television have also gone on air to voice their objections to the proposed Fair-well Intercourse law.
Jaber al-Qarmouty, a TV anchor commented ” this is very serious. Could the panel that will draft the Egyptian constitution possibly discuss such issues?”
“This is unbelievable. It is a catastrophe to give the husband such a right! Has the Islamic trend reached that far? Is there really a draft law in this regard? Are there people thinking in this manner?”
