吃雞 means eat chicken. But recently, 吃雞 as an online buzzword referring the popular game 絕地求生：大逃殺 or PUBG.

While playing PUBG, “Winner winner, chicken dinner” is “大吉大利，今晚吃雞” in chinese.
So, when some one asks you “你吃雞了嗎” or “你吃過(guò)雞嗎”, he is asking if you had won in PUBG.
When someone asks you “一起吃雞”, he is inviting you to play PUBG with him.
玩絕地求生，“Winner winner, chicken dinner“的中文翻譯是“大吉大利，今晚吃雞”，所以當(dāng)有人問(wèn)你“你吃雞了嗎”或者“你吃過(guò)雞了嗎”，意思是問(wèn)你是不是玩絕地求生贏了。
當(dāng)某人問(wèn)你“一起吃雞”嗎，即使邀請(qǐng)你和他一起玩絕地求生。

Literally, ‘吃雞’ means ‘eat chicken’ in Chinese. But recently, it has extended meaning as an online buzzword — referring the popular game 絕地求生：大逃殺 or PlayerUnknown’s BattleGrounds (PUBG).
I got confused at first and failed to see the connection. Then I asked my Chinese teacher and she happened to play this game. She told me ‘吃雞’ is the abbreviation of ‘大吉大利，晚上吃雞’ which means ‘Winner, winner, chicken dinner’. It is a slogan of the system when you win the game. It is so interesting that now people don’t say the full name of the game anymore and just use ‘吃雞’ instead, which is pretty cute.
I’ve been learning Chinese for 2 years and want to meet more friends who also love learning Chinese. If you are in Singapore and want to learn Chinese mandarin, I would highly recommend my teacher from KIRIN Mandarin. Just google their name if you are interested.
