If Chinese reach the highest need of the people: self-actualization, he should focus on science and technology creation rather than food. Science creation is high needs of people, while cuisine development is a low level of need of society. Surely enough, the agriculture is also need science and technology. Why not focus on agriculture sciences or agriculture technology improvement like Yuan Longping did(hybrid rice)? The American Indian's found the potatoes, corn, pepper and so on. The innovation of finding pepper is definitely higher than the innovation of using pepper in a kind of cuisine such as Sichuan Food or Hunan Food that used many pepper. "Chinese food-Sichuan Food- is very delicious", a U.S. friend of mine told me her experience in Chongqing city of Sichuan Province. But if Chinese create the computer rather than a food, I think this creation is more valuable. And if China create potato, the value is higher than changing the name from "hot and sour potato silk" to "hot pepper with sliced potato".
